kay, so why am I doing this? because i'm mad, that's why.
Name: batkit | batpaw | batwing | batstar Age: 29 moons Gender: she-cat Clan: WillowClan Rank: Leader Mate: N/A Kits: N/A Description: Batstar's body is a lean, long-legged structure with muscles that ripple under a long cinder-gray pelt. Her fur is somewhat wiry, but not so that it looks messy, and certainly doesn't feel rough at the touch. The she-cat's legs are long, and her paws are small and petite. She has the build of a cat that runs better than she fights, but this is not true. You can't really see the muscles that flow gently under her coat, but they are there, and just about visible. Her tail is long and quite feathery, the wiry look of her coat eliminated on this part of her body. The very, very slightest of darker slashes streak past random parts of her pelt like a faded tabby pattern. Batstar's eyes a soft, sun-kissed yellow on the main part, though they are rimmed around the outside and around the pupil with a spring green flare. Her eyes could remind you of a meadow in the summer, yellow and greens merge together to create beautiful tendrils of colour. On her right eye, just under the pupil, sits a curious deep brown slash, and this can sometimes distract other cats from looking at her straight on.
Batstar is a calm, collected cat for the most part, and her clan is her first priority. Loyal as she is, the she-cat can sometimes have difficulty when controlling her anger. It was worse when she was younger, but it is still an issue now. She often has to force herself to damp down the red-hot anger that bubbles within, for the sake of her clan and her reputation. Batstar is one who doesn't care what others think of her. It's their opinion, and they can do what they like with it. If they think she's bossy, well then so be it. If they think she's a good leader, then good for them. The only thing that annoys the leader when others gossip about her is when they speak of her temper. She hates cats reminding her of the frustration that is entangled firmly into her body and just will not let go.
Batstar has many flaws, but she also has good traits. She will never let her clan down, and that is a vow to herself that she has promised not to break. She has a caring side, the way she looks upon WillowClan as her kits, the way she dotes upon them like a mother might. All in all, the she-cat is loyal and caring, but if you get on her bad side, all hell brakes loose. History: Batkit was born into WillowClan to Foxflesh, a headstrong ginger tom, and his mate, Mistheart. She had two brothers, Bluekit and Purekit. Both had their minds set on becoming leader one day, and squabbled continuously over it for their first few moons of being able to see and converse with eachother. The end of her kithood was shaken up when her mother was killed by a snake. The rest of her kithood passed smoothly, almost invisibly. Batpaw was mentored by a quickthinking, fast tom named Driftsoul. He was named quite correctly, because though his intentions were good, his mind often drifted off and it was hard to get his attention again. Batpaw trained hard, and worked through her apprenticeship swiftly with hardly any hardships on the way there. She always caught her prey and never let it slip through her paws. She was your average, goody two paws apprentice, who did everything that she was supposed to. And then she discovered that there was a lot hidden behind those flawless little eyes of hers.
It was when she was out hunting alone. Driftsoul was ill, and so he told her to go hunting alone and bring what she hunted back to camp. It would be like her first assessment, only he wouldn't be there to watch her. Batpaw spotted three rogues, talking amongst eachother within a small parting of trees. Batpaw stayed hidden, watching them, listening to what they said. They said nothing of interest to her, about how a kittypet had opposed them back at twolegplace, until one of them caught her scent and leapt on her, demanding why she was eavesdropping. It all happened at once. Suddenly, the young she-cat was a raging wreck, striking out at her opponents with no mercy whatsoever. When she had calmed down, she discovered she had actually managed to kill one of the rogues, and the other two had fled, stuck for words on why this apprentice had lashed out in that way.
Her warriorhood began with a shaky start. She had to live knowing that she had killed another cat - something she wished she would never have to do. She wasn't a killer, though deep inside she thought she was a monster. She accused herself, beat herself up about it, it made no sense. Why had she lost her temper so easy? She had never known herself do that. And she was scared. So scared of the dark secret that lurked deep inside her. Batwing proved herself over and over, but couldn't shake the monstrous feeling that brought her down each and every day. The weight of the terror lifted when she fell in love with a calico tom named Eagleflight. He was handsome and fell for her too. But no sooner than they had declared their love for eachother, Eagleflight was killed in a border fight. Batwing was left beaten and battered, her heart feeling like it had been ripped to shreds, over and over. Nobody could shake her out of the trance, no one could make her see sense. Over time, however, she slowly twirled out of her grief and went on with her life, though she would never forget Eagleflight.
A few moons after she had returned to her normal self, she was made deputy, much to her surprise. Apparently, most cats in the clan agreed with this choice, and Batwing was pleased they approved... but would they approve so if they knew she was a killer? A monster? She shook this feeling away and claimed to duties that needed doing. The leader was Sparkstar, and he was a strong, passionate tom who was an ambitious and good hearted leader. Batwing was honoured to be his deputy. Sparkstar became old quite quickly as the moons fled by, and soon Batwing was faced with the horror of watching her leader die. He died peacefully in his den, of greencough. The cats in the clan knew the end was coming to him, and they sat outside in the clearing, looking up at the den with wide, mournful, but respectful eyes. Batwing sat amongst them, knowing of the pressure that would be flung upon her young shoulders soon.
Now, Batstar leads her clan to the best of her ability, and slowly she is recovering from the dark secret that smothers her still. Its impossible to let go - but for the good of her clan, she keeps this secret well protected by the tendrils of her heart.
